Sitting proudly at No 1 Eyre Square, Richardson's looks out over Eyre Square & Kennedy Park. This large pub is set on two levels as well as having a small off licence. Richardsons is a venue for Traditional Irish music, mostly upstairs and sometimes downstairs. They regularly host sessions for people beginning in trad music to join in on. It also has occasional gigs from a diverse range of bands in its upstairs venue.
The building has been a Pub since the early 1800s and has been in the Richardson family since 1955 when Tim Richardson and his wife May leased the building.
There is also some interesting history attached to this premises. It is believed to have been the home of Nora Barnacle's (Wife of James Joyce) first love, Michael Bodkin or Furey depending on the source. His early death and Nora's love for him was the inspiration for Joyce's story "The Dead" and the song "The lass of Aughrim".
Richardson's serve a small food menu throughout the day.
