Traditional Music Wednesday and Sunday nights

Cookes Thatch Bar sits in the heart of one of the City’s oldest residential areas. There has been a pub operating here since the 1700’s and it is one of only two remaining thatch pubs in the City today. This large premise also contains a convenience store and off licence. It has a loyal local following every night of the week. Cookes is divided into two separate sections, a lounge and a bar with a quaint snug dividing the two. The lounge contains a jukebox and dart boards and is regular host to table quizzes for various local fundraising.

They have a very spacious comfortable heated smoking area at the back of the pub.

Trad Music at Cookes 

The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed with plenty of chat between all customers. Cookes is also reknowned for the quality of the Guinness so it's a great place to down a pint of the "black stuff".

They have Irish traditional music sessions underneath the Thatch roof on Wednesdays and Sundays. Live music is also played here on Fridays and Saturdays.
