Mcginns Hop House

Mcginn's Hop House opened in Woodquay in Summer 2015. The eclectic interior has used reclaimed material extensively which gives the pub a comfortable lived in feel. The floor is partly from the Harland and Wolfe shipyard in Belfast while the ceiling is from an Oklahoma farmhouse built in the 1800's. Proprietor Fergus McGinn has always offered a Fáilte mór in one of the many venues he has run over the years including Richardsons and Monroes Taven.

Mcginn's continues the recent trend for a wider choice of beers and spirits with 18 taps and a wide selection of spirits available. Mcginn's has also installed a wood fired pizza oven as well as serving a wider food menu. This is a great place for some pub food later in the evening as they serve food until 11pm.

There is lots of open space inside with a good number of large tvs spread around the Pub which makes for good sports viewing conditions. The pub is operated by publican Fergus Mcginn who is renowned for a friendly welcome and the pub has built up a sizable bunch of regular customers.

Many people will remember the Pub under different names such as the Stage door, Muddy Mahers and after its renovation as Foleys Hop House but its looks like Mcginn's Hop House is here to stay.
